A PENICUIK pooch, gifted with the “X factor”, won one of the top awards at Crufts this month.

And the success enjoyed by Purdi’s owner Jan Moir turned into a true family affair, with her daughter and grand-daughter all sharing the competition limelight.

Jan (57) was showing Purdi, a four-year-old German Spitz Klein, who boasts a remarkable pedigree.

Purdi’s parents were both champion dogs, and her father holds the record for more challenge certificates than any German Spitz Klein.

Purdi – whose kennel name is Stormavon Sky Flyer to Jansanleis – won the open bitch class before going up against the 10 champion bitches to lift the Best Bitch award at the Birmingham NEC.
