A project to restore a Penicuik walled garden to its former glory has received almost £32,000 from the Scottish Government.
Penicuik Community Development Trust has spent the past four years on a project to transform Penicuik Estate’s Upper Walled Garden and reap the harvest of their hard work.
The Lost Garden of Penicuik project will receive £31,900 to restore the garden as a sustainable food source thus reducing carbon emissions by cutting food miles.
Trust chairman Roger Kelly said: “We are very, very pleased that what we sought from the Climate Change Fund has been granted.”
