Author Alison Irvine visited Dalkeith Library for a reading workshop to celebrate World Book Day.

The writer gave a reading from her most recent work, ‘This Road is Red’, a critically-acclaimed collection of short stories about the residents of the Red Road flats in Glasgow. She also discussed her work with local students and took questions.

Meanwhile, Midlothian Libraries have prepared a new guide to the council’s archive collection. The guide will be launched at a free event to be held at Dalkeith Arts Centre at 10am on Saturday, March 24.
