Chapel scoops design commendation

Rosslyn Chapel’s conservation project and visitor centre have been commended in a national competition.

The project was one of the finalists in the category of Leisure/Culture Building or Project at the Scottish Design Awards in Glasgow last week.

Designed by Architects Page/Park, the visitor centre houses interpretation and learning facilities, as well as the chapel’s coffee shop and gift shop.

The conservation project has involved conservation and repair of the external stonework, conservation of the stained glass windows, a new heating system, improved lighting and the restoration of the Victorian organ.
