Supermarket bosses have withdrawn from sale a staff charity calendar claiming the Loanhead venture did not meet “company values”.

Employees at Asda, Straiton Retail Park, had followed in the bare-foot steps of the Women’s Institute and produced a saucy film-themed 2015 calendar.

The staff initiative was to raise money for Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids.

When approached by the Advertiser about sales, Asda said the charity publication was no longer available.

The Asda spokesman added: “It was a joint decision by Asda and Cash for Kids – we both felt it was an inappropriate fundraising activity for a children’s charity.”
