LOANHEAD: To celebrate Pentland Hills Chess Club’s 25th anniversary, a rare simultaneous display (simul) for club members is to be carried out by the UK’s only female International Grandmaster, Georgian-born Ketevan “Keti” Arakhamia-Grant.

She will play around 25 chess players simultaneously on Tuesday, May 24, in Loanhead Miners Welfare Club from 7pm.

The event will see Keti make a chess move, move on to the next board, make her move, move on to the next board and keep going until she has moved on all 25 boards.

Despite Keti having to concentrate on 25 simultaneous games for an estimated four hours, she is not expected to lose many.
