Those behind new plans to improve the Christmas Lights event in Newtongrange are hoping local businesses will get involved.
Up to £2,000 is to be spent in Newtongrange, making the event a more prominent occasion, with the fixing of a permanent manhole-type base and a 25-foot Christmas tree, complete with new LED lights.
The work has all been agreed and funded via Councillor Bryan Pottinger’s (Lab) Environmental Improvement Fund.
He said: “We are now looking for more community support, with traders decorating their shop fronts and/or contributing to revenue costs.”
