a PROJECT aiming to boost Midlothian’s economy and reduce unemployment has been launched by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
The Coalfields Community Challenge seeks to provide six months coaching and mentoring for up to ten new, or recently established businesses, with the winner taking the £25,000 top prize.
Nicky Wilson Scottish trustee and vice-chairman of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone living or working in a mining community to realise their dream of starting a business of their own.
“We ran the challenge last year as a pilot and we are delighted with the success of the finalists and plan to deliver the challenge in England and Wales.”
