Award-winning singer Megan Adams will be headlining a concert in Penicuik this Saturday with funds going towards Poppyscotland.

Megan, who shot to fame with the Poppy Girls, is to receive the Hotdisc Horizon’s Most Successful British Newcomer award in the country music scene at the Craigiebield House Hotel event.

Sharing the spotlight will be Tranent trainee teacher Caitlyn Vanbeck who was knocked out of the X Factor before the Judge’s Houses stage.

Also performing will be Sophie Burt, an acoustic singer and songwriter from Penicuik, and soloist Cameron Fellows.

The concert will be hosted by Jim Thomson, from 2SCOTS, who will bring along his poppy motorbike.

The musical evening has been organised by Mark Wells in tribute to the care his family received from the Royal British Legion following the sudden death of his father, Allan (25), a serving soldier with the Gordon Highlanders.

In the summer Mark (34) organised a family fun day in aid of Poppyscotland.

Tickets for the concert are on sale from the Craigiebield House Hotel, from Poppyscotland or Mark by calling 07840 999 122.
