The search is on to find the most stunning images capturing the beauty, history and character of Midlothian’s two valleys.
The Esk Valley Trust is seeking entries for its photo competition showing the diversity of the areas around the North Esk and South Esk Rivers from source to Forth.
The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers of all ages. There are cash prizes for the top three entries, which will be presented at the trust’s AGM in Dalkeith on May 3.
A trust spokesman said: “The theme is intended to be a broad one, highlighting the scenery and the wildlife to be found in the area.
“We are also interested in the history reflected in the towns and villages along the length of the valley and the historical buildings and industrial heritage of the area.
“We would like to know where each photograph was taken so that people can visit the site should they wish to do so.”
All photographs must be uploaded onto the trust’s Flickr gallery via its website home page - www.eskvalleytrust.org.
The closing date is Sunday, April 3. For details can be found on the website.
