The council’s Police, and Fire and Rescue Board recently welcomed the new Local Police Commander for Lothian and Borders.

Chief Superintendent Ivor Marshal attended the Board’s latest meeting, where chairperson Councillor Kelly Parry (SNP) said: “Welcome to our meeting today, we certainly look forward to partnership work with you.”

Chief Superintendent Marshall responded: “It’s a privilege and a pleasure to be here today. I’m really looking forward to my role going forward, and building relationships around the table.”

CS Marshall started his policing career with Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary before transferring to Lothian and Borders where he carried out a number of senior roles. He replaces Chief Superintendent Gillian Imery.
