A film telling the story of the murders of former Newbattle High School pupils Brett Lodge and Dale Bennett will be officially launched next week.
Made by the Newbattle Youth Forum, with support from Midlothian Council and £500 of funding from the Dale Bennett Memorial Trust, No Return carries the message that violence destroys lives.
Councillors, police and the boys’ families were interviewed for the 18-minute documentary about the senseless murders of Dale and Brett in separate incidents in 2011.
Sheryl Skelton from the Dale Bennett Memorial Trust is delighted with the film.
She said: “It’s a short film but it’s got a very strong message through it. It’s really good. I’m very happy with it. The feedback we have had so far has been good.
“The impact is hard-hitting. We are seeing the stories from the families’ side. It’s quite emotional.”
The film is also available to view on the Dale Bennett Memorial Trust’s Facebook page.
Sheryl appealed for more people to help the Trust and thanked the group, who recently raised £1500 for them by completing Tough Mudder.
