Dalkeith’s war dead have been commemorated with the recent installation of new benches at the town’s King’s Park.
The benches cost £500 each and were paid for by Dalkeith and District Community Council.
Two face into the park while the others point towards the Dalkeith War Memorial, and are dedicated to soldiers from the area who were killed during active service.
According to the group’s chairman John Hackett, members were keen to pay tribute to the area’s fallen servicemen ahead of the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.
