Dalkeith Country Park will be a hive of activity this weekend, with two family-friendly events taking place to round off this year’s Midfest.

On Saturday, local rock star Fish and the Fratellis are among the acts playing Midstock. On Sunday, local band The Domestics and children’s entertainers Funbox are among the performers at the free family fun day event.

Midstock organiser Wullie Slight said: “It’s all coming together. It’s a little different from last year. We have a bigger stage and we have added a few different things. A cocktail bar, a VIP area. Just adding things as we go forward.

“Everything is in place and all the bands are excited. All we need now is sunshine.

“The line-up is looking fantastic. Everybody has been really positive about the event.

“Ticket sales have been pretty strong. Our early bird tickets are sold out.

“It’s a good family-orientated festival. We have got the beautiful setting of Dalkeith Country Park as well.

“So hopefully everybody has a good day out with their kids and families.”

After their recent successful appearance at the Loanhead Music Festival, The Domestics are among the acts at this year’s Midfest Family Fun Day in Dalkeith Country Park on Sunday. The fun day is the final event of Midfest, with food, drink, farmer’s market, craft stalls, and music for all tastes. Check out www.midlothian.gov/midfest for full details.
