A Dalkeith minister has described his delight at becoming the new Moderator of Church of Scotland’s Lothian Presbytery.
Rev Sandy Horsburgh (46), from Eskbank, was officially installed by outgoing Moderator John Wells at Roslin Parish Church on September 25.
Recommended for the year-long role by members of the Lothian Presbytery Business Committee, his new duties include chairing Presbytery meetings and leading special services.
He told the Advertiser: “Of course I was happy to be asked. It’s very nice when colleagues ask you to do something like this. It shows they have a degree of confidence in your abilities.”
