A CHARITY ‘mum of the year’ from Dalkeith has met David Cameron to discuss her concerns about long-term care needs for the disabled.

Ann Maxwell, who has raised £8 million for epilepsy research, earlier this year took the Tesco award for her role as co-founder of the Muir Maxwell Trust.

She was given the accolade in recognition of her tireless fundraising for the charity, set up in the name of her then 11-year-old son Muir, who has severe epilepsy.
