Primary one pupils from Kings Park Primary School in Dalkeith had an arresting time during a recent visit to their local police station.

The youngsters were given a tour of the Newbattle Road building by community beat officer PC Rona Duncan, during which they were placed in handcuffs, had their fingerprints taken and spent time behind bars.

The station is the regional Lothian command hub for the new Scotland-wide force. The new ‘J Division’ consists of Midlothian, East Lothian, West Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
