Dalkeith soldier sets his sights on future

A DALKEITH soldier has been taking part in an intensive training course in preparation for promotion.

Private Robert Brown (22) has just completed the Junior Non Commissioned Officers Cadre, a six-week course aimed to test the soldier’s military skills under arduous conditions.

Robert is a member of The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, which is based at Dreghorn Barracks, Edinburgh.

He attended Newbattle Community High School and joined the Army in 2010. He has served overseas in Afghanistan, Belize and Kenya.
