Danderhall and District Community Council is calling on Midlothian Council to provide a skate park facility for local youngsters.

Chairman Sam Campbell – pictured – said other communities in Midlothian had skate parks and it was high time Danderhall had one as well. He added that there was “great demand among children” for such a provision.

He told the Advertiser: “We discussed our concern about the fact that most other communities in Midlothian either have or are getting a skate park. We feel it is time for Danderhall to get one.

“Tony Malone – head of sport and leisure at Midlothian Council – was at our meeting and he has agreed to take our request to the council. There is a big demand – all the kids are asking for one.”
