Midlothian Council has reluctantly given the go-ahead for William Hill to open another betting shop in Dalkeith - at the former Old Meal Market Inn, as previously reported.
This week, we’re asking does the area need a fourth betting shop?
In the current climate, when people are struggling to make ends meet, could they be tempted into gambling by the proliferation of betting shops?
Or should people be allowed to spend their money how they like, with firms like William Hill simply meeting market demand?
