A disabled man says he is lucky to still be walking after being trapped for hours when his forklift truck flipped over at a Gorebridge building site.

Last Tuesday morning, David Gibson (21), had just started his first day on site doing agency work at the Stewart Milne development at Kirkhill Rise in Gorebridge, when his forklift truck flipped over.

David, who obtained his forklift licence earlier this year after being told he couldn’t work, relived the drama and praised those who freed him, adding how lucky he was to get out of hospital the same day.
