The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a dog was left tied to a front door in Bilston.
The animal welfare charity was contacted by a Seafield Road resident when she returned home to find the small tan and white crossbreed dog abandoned at her door at 2.45pm on Tuesday, December 6.
Two packets of dog food had been posted through the letterbox.
The dog, which has been named Pugsy, is being cared for by staff at the Scottish SPCA’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Balerno.
Senior Inspector John Toule said: “The dog, which appears to be a pug-cross-corgi, was found wearing a gold collar with silver bones studded on to it and was tied up using a blue extending lead. He is in good overall condition and has clearly been someone’s pet up until very recently.”
