Enterprising youngsters at Lasswade Primary School have set up a Fairtrade tuck shop – so hungry pupils can tuck in to healthy and ethical snacks.

The “Tradey Treats” store – set up by children in P2 and P6 – is just one of the school’s initiatives as part of its bid to become an official Fairtrade School.

To give them a few ideas, Rachel Farey of the Fairtrade organisation the One World Shop in Edinburgh gave an introduction to Fairtrade and what it means at a school assembly.
