Two new primary schools are expected to be open in Midlothian in two years time.
Planning applications have been lodged for a new school to be sited on the public park in Bilston and another on land east of Whitehouse Way, Gorebridge.
The Bilston school will include a nursery and primary school for P1 to P7 classes and is expected to cost in the region of £6.3 million.
The Gorebridge school will be bigger with two classes in each primary year and will cost £8 million.
