An extra £50,000 has been made available to allow Midlothian households to combat fuel poverty.
Alex Neil, Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Investment, said local residents would continue to lose money every single day that passed unless they took advantage of the free insulation measures on offer.
He announced additional funding to Midlothian Council for the Universal Home Insulation Scheme, which offers a range of free home insulation measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty.
Over this year the council has received a total of £500,000 under the scheme.
