Hands off Penicuik’s crowning glory

A PENICUIK professor has hit out at plans to build wind turbines on the edge of town.

Professor Tony Trewavas believes that Wind Prospect’s plans to erect 12 105-metre turbines on Mount Lothian will destory Penicuik’s “crowning glory”.

Speaking on behalf of Penicuik Environment Protection Association, he fears the community is being ‘bribed’ by developers to allow them to create a windfarm on land owned by Clerk Estates.
