RESIDENTS in Pathhead are being encouraged to connect to the gas network for the first time.
Work is about to progress to install the gas infrastructure into the village and then to connect council tenants.
Private home owners can apply for Scottish Government connection grants to assist them with the installation of gas central heating into their homes.
The new gas connection will help deal with fuel poverty and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to tackle the threat of climate change. It will also help improve the air quality for residents in Pathhead, as fewer households will burn fossil fuels.
For further information and details on how home owners can join the gas network in Pathhead, call Energy Saving Scotland on 0800 512 012 during office hours or visit www.energysavingtrust.org.uk
