Comedian and after-dinner speaker Eric Davidson will be performing at the National Mining Museum Scotland next month.
The entertainer will appear at Stovies and Serenades in The Old Powerhouse on Thursday, May 5 from 7pm.
“I love coming back to Nitten,” said Eric of his home town. “I am quite curious about things and I write a lot of stuff but it’s not all funny stuff.
“I’ve started writing wee memoirs of growing up in Newtongrange.
“They are quite poignant but quite funny as well. There will be stuff about the characters in Newtongrange and there are a couple of wee songs I’m working on as well.
“It will be a wee bit comedy with a touch of pathos and stovies which is the highlight.”
Eric turned full-time two years ago and has enjoyed a series of successful shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Most recently he was performing at the Dean Tavern alongside Newtongrange Silver Band.
One of the highlights was his poem about Durham Miners’ Gala accompanied by the band.
