More local environmentalists have signed up to give Midlothian a spring clean.
The national campaign has now attracted more than 1000 people keen to see the county looking spick and span.
On Saturday, the first of three spring cleans will take place in Penicuik. Organised by local environmentalist Chris Leavy, volunteers will be tackling Beeslack Woods. Participants are asked to meet at Tesco’s car park, Penicuik, at 9.30am.
In nearby Roslin, villagers will be holding a spring clean. Those taking part will be meeting at the pavilion in the public park at 10am. All gear and equipment will be provided including gloves, picker-uppers, bags and visi-vests.
