Scottish health minister Shona Robison met tenants in the award-winning Cowan Court development in Penicuik last week.

Ms Robison had an opportunity to chat with Hilda and George Kelly during her tour of the extra care housing facility on Eastfield Drive.

The Minister was at the flagship care centre to announce a further £100 million over three years to be invested in the NHS.

The money will be used to help reduce the numbers of people waiting to be discharged from hospital.

This funding will be used to support health boards and local authorities to deliver good quality care and support for people at home or in a homely setting.

Midlothian Council is to receive £1.44m.
