Incidents of sheep worrying in the Pentland Hills decreased significantly thanks to a special springtime campaign.
The initiative, involving local farmers, Penicuik police and the Pentland Hills Rangers, took place in the Flotterstone Glen area of the regional park. During April and May, dog owners were informed of their access rights and responsibilities.
Police officers patrolled upland section of the hills on quad bikes advising the public how best to control their pets.
Around 600 leaflets were handed out to the public highlighting the dangers of sheep worrying.
