The ever popular Midlothian Science Festival crackles into action next month sparking enthusiasm in a new generation of scientists.
From October 4-19, the festival boasts practical workshops, talks and walks across the county.
Highlights include an open day at Easter Bush, near Roslin, on Saturday, October 4 with an opportunity to visit the world famous Roslin Institute and the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.
This will be followed by Science in the Glen on Sunday, October 5, when events in Roslin Glen will focus on the links between geology and science.
