Planning to hop on a bus over the Christmas and New Year period?
Lothian Buses and First Bus are operating amended timetables from today (Christmas Eve) through to January 3.
Tuesday, December 24 - Saturday service. The last Lothian Buses service will travel through Edinburgh city centre at about 9.30pm.
Wednesday, December 25 - No Lothian Buses or First Bus services in Midlothian. Edinburgh Bus Station as well as the park and rides at Straiton and Sheriffhall will be closed.
Thursday, December 26 - Lothian Buses will be operating a limited service. First Bus services 62 and X95 will operate with special timetables. Straiton park and ride will be closed.
Friday, December 27 - Saturday service.
Saturday, December 28 - Normal Saturday service.
Sunday, December 29 - Normal Sunday service.
Monday, December 30 - Saturday service. First Bus service X95 6pm journey from Edinburgh to Carlisle will terminate in Hawick and the 11pm Hawick to Galashiels journey will not operate.
Tuesday, December 31 - Saturday service. The last Lothian Buses will travel through Edinburgh city centre at about 9.30pm.
In partnership with Diagio, Lothian Buses will be putting on a free Night Bus service in the early hours on Wednesday, January 1. This will include the N3 to Dalkeith, Mayfield, Newtongrange and Gorebridge; the N31 to Lasswade and Bonnyrigg; and N37 to Loanhead and Penicuik.
Wednesday, January 1 - Lothian Buses has introduced a limited service. Service 31 will run to Bonnyrigg, service 33 to Dalkeith, Newtongrange and Gorebridge, and 37 to Loanhead and Penicuik. First Bus services 62 and X95 will operate with a special timetable. The park and ride at Straiton will be closed.
Thursday, January 2 - Lothian Buses will operate a reduced Sunday service. No First Bus services.
Friday, January 3 - Saturday service.
