An innovative project to give Midlothian youngsters the skills and confidence to work in retails, has received an early Christmas present.

People’s Millions funding for the Beadazzling Get Ready for Retail project runs out at the end of December.

But recognising the success of the project, Volunteer Midlothian is to step in to see the pop up jewellery shop in Eskdale Court, Dalkeith, remain open.

Youth services manager Natalie Christison said: “Due to the great success of the project during year one, Volunteer Midlothian do not want to see the shop close and have decided to continue to fund the project themselves, on a part-time basis, until the end of March 2015.”
