POLICE have increased patrols in the Pentland Hills following reports of illegal fishing at local reservoirs.
Community Sergeant Michele Lindsay told the Advertiser the patrols were focusing on Loganlea and Glencorse Reservoirs after receiving complaints of people fishing in the middle of the night.
Scottish Water confirmed it was asking anglers not to fish at Glencorse and was aware of police concerns of illegal night fishing at the reservoir and neighbouring Loganlea.
Signs informing locals that fishing has been suspended are being erected and the boats have been removed from the water.
