Flu blamed for Penicuik school bug

AN ILLNESS which swept a Penicuik school may have been caused by a flu virus, according to health officers.

As reported in last week’s Advertiser, parents were advised to stay away from nativity performances at Mauricewood Primary School to prevent the spread of a bug causing diarrhoea and vomiting among pupils.

Norovirus was initially suspected, but that diagnosis has been revised.
