Scottish-based Fine Food Holdings has acquired a Penicuik specialist food company as part of a deal worth more than £1 million.

The firm purchased Penicuik-based Clarks Speciality Foods Ltd and Wild Tastes Ltd in Glenrothes, for £1.46m. Both supply premium products to the foodservice sector, and speciality retailers across Scotland.

Fine Food Holdings owners Allan Currie and Stuart Robinson are both established investors in the food and drink sector.

Their latest acquisitions were supported with funding from Clydesdale Bank in a deal facilitated by relationship manager Michael Mackie at the Edinburgh Customer Banking Centre.

Fine Foods chairman Stuart Robinson said: “We’re very pleased to have brought Clarks and Wild Taste into our family of companies. The products and services they provide complement our other high-end food and drinks companies.

“Both companies enjoy strong reputations among Scotland’s top restaurants, hotels and other food outlets. Together, the companies have around 35 employees and a fleet of 10 vehicles.”
