The final piece of the funding jigsaw has been secured for the new Gorebridge Community Hub.
Thanks to a £500,000 award from the Social Investment Fund Scotland, the project has reached its £2.5 million target.
Gorebridge Community Development Trust hopes building on the new Hunterfield Road facility will begin in the new year. Planning consent has already been granted.
The next step for the trust is to start the tender process and appoint a main contractor. Chairman Archie Pacey said: “We are delighted that, at last, this final piece of match funding has been reached, so it allows us to go ahead with the project.
“We will be driving it forward as quickly as we possibly can.”
