A host of Dalkeith groups are to share £40,000 to ensure the Coalfields Community Futures’ Five Year Action Plan gets off to a flying start.

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust and Midlothian Council, each put up £20,000 for the Woodburn/Dalkeith Participatory Budget.

The awards include £650 to the Pink Ladies 1st, and £3,600 to Midlothian Amateur Boxing and Fitness Club, £1,100 to the Esk Place Tenants Association, and £1000 to Woodburn Family Fun Day.

The Bill Russell Woodburn Youth Project will receive £7,000 to enable young people to make a video of their lives, and £1,000 for the Youth Project to run intergenerational knitting classes.
