The redevelopment of the old Dalkeith High School site has moved a step closer – with retail premises and affordable housing among the uses being considered.
New planning guidelines have been approved – for consultation – for the development of the three-and-a-half hectare grounds of the soon-to-be demolished school.
A brief setting out key criteria – to be considered by developers putting forward proposals for the Newmills Road site – has been approved in draft by Midlothian Council’s planning committee.
Possible uses also include office, commercial leisure or community buildings and facilities.
