Horse power will be swapped for pedal power as Penicuik townsfolk prepare to celebrate at the annual Hunter and Lass festivities.

The week-long festival kicks off on Saturday (May 24) with a family bike ride. The cycle starts from the car park at Beeslack Community High School and participants should assemble at 11.30am.

This event will be followed by the final of the Penicuik’s Got Talent show in the town hall at 6pm.

On Sunday, the focus will be horse power of the mechanical kind when the annual custom and classic car show takes place at AF Noble’s Subaru service centre’s car park at 11.30am.

The midweek rideout –which takes place on Tuesday – leaves Eastfield Drive at 6.30pm.

The colourful pram race takes to the streets on Wednesday, with teams gathering in the Pentland House car park at 7pm for a 7.30pm start outside the Cuiken Inn, Edinburgh Road.
