In response to demand from the local community, Newbattle Abbey College is launching a brand new programme of short courses this autumn.
Avid learners can join in on the latest ‘buzz’ by taking part in a beekeeping course.
Students will learn about taking care of honey bees, setting up a hive and harvesting their own honey.
Other outdoor tastes are catered for with the four week course in gardening where, in the community gardens, students will learn about sowing, digging and composting and garden care, ready for the cold autumn and winter months.
Steeped in tradition, the college provides the perfect setting for history buffs.
This autumn, students can unravel the history of the abbey, studying local artefacts and documents about Newbattle, with the Scottish History course; or those who are interested in tracing their roots can research their family tree on an eight week course.
