Folk duo The Blyde Lasses will be evoking the sounds and traditions of the Shetland Isles when they perform in Penicuik next month.

The pair - fiddler and singer Claire White and Fances Wilkins on English concertina - will be in concert as guests of Penicuik Folk Club in The Roadhouse, John Street, on Tuesday, October 14 at 8pm.

Blyde Lasses means “glad girls” in the Shetland dialect and the duo have played together since 2006 with performances rich in stories and music drawn from Shetland’s vibrant tradition.
