A MIDLOTHIAN road has finally reopened to traffic following the completion of major repairs.
The B7003 Roslin Glen road – right – opened on Monday after Midlothian Council spent £850,000 stabilising and repairing the south section of the road.
The road – the main route connecting Bonnyrigg and Rosewell with Roslin – is one of the new crossings over the River Esk and provides an essential link between the A701 (Edinburgh to Penicuik road) and the A6094 (Bonnyrigg to Howgate road).
The route closed in January 2008 in the interests of public safety following a landslip. Repair work began in March 2011 and was due to be completed by December.
