What’s It All About? The sun-kissed saga of eclectic holiday makers and staff at the Solana hotel has touched a chord with millions since it debuted in 2007.
Penned by Derren Litten, an actor who previously worked on EastEnders, Spaced and The Catherine Tate Show, it’s won two National Television Awards, a TV Choice Award and was nominated for a Bafta.
The last season’s launch episode attracted almost eight million viewers, the show’s highest viewing figure since 2011, so little wonder series seven was given a green light.
As this is supposed to be the last run, the writer has pulled out all the stops to ensure his beloved characters go out on a high.
In the latest offering, Kenneth embarks on a quest to find a cure for Joyce’s mysterious ailment.
In addition, Glynn plans an ideal day out for Jacqueline, and the Oracle hopes walking on hot coals will impress Solana’s regulars.
Look Out For: Coronation Street and Emmerdale veteran Denise Black, who guest stars as Les’s ex Gloria. She turns up at the hotel in the hope of coaxing son Liam back to Blighty.
