IF you go down in the woods today... but that’s another story.

The beauty and mystery of the forest and the magical stories it evokes are captured in a new book by Gorebridge author Ian Edwards.

Writing “Tales From The Forest” has been a labour of love for Ian, who is the Head of Exhibitions and Exhibits at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

“Tales From The Forest” focuses on the folk tales that spring from man’s relationship with trees. Much of the research and writing was done after Ian received a personal Millennium Award from the Millennium Forest for Scotland in 2000.

He said: “The award allowed me to visit Finland, Estonia and Latvia and I’ve been able to go there several times in the past 10 years. I’ve always been interested in the forest stories that still exist in those places.”
