After many false starts work is due to begin on the new multi-purpose Gorebridge Community Hub.
Originally scheduled to begin earlier this year, work is finally set to get under way on the £3 million project, which is seen as vital to the town with local groups desperate for indoor space.
Gorebridge Development Trust (GDT) have been steering the project with Lottery and council funding.
Manager Paul Renwick is hopeful work will begin shortly: “We are just in the final stages of getting the funding in place,” he said.
“It’s never been closer to starting.
“We are looking to start in the next four to six weeks.
“There are just a few documents to be signed off at the council.”
