The ale will soon be flowing at a Gorebridge watering hole for the first time in more than a year.
The Hunterfield Tavern, known locally as ‘The Goth’, is set to be re-opened as The New Hunterfield Tavern.
Landlady Diane Jeromson’s application for a provisional premises licence was approved by Midlothian Licensing Board at a recent meeting in Dalkeith.
The Board had received four identical letters of objection from residents living at Hunterfield Road. Catherine Marr (115), Raymond Munro and Karel Olsen (115a), Tirion Dickson and Clare Dickson (115b) and Robert Allen and Mary Quinn (117) expressed concerns that a beer garden and smokers area would “inevitably” result in excess levels of noise and foul language.
