PLANS to convert part of a shop into a two-bedroom flat were the subject of a lengthy discussion at Gorebridge Community Council.
An application has been submitted to Midlothian Council for partial change of use from shop to dwelling at 55 Powdermill Brae, Birkenside.
Chairman Jimmy Innes declared a personal interest in the plans as a neighbour.
Mr Innes told the community council: “When I went to the library and looked at the plans they’ve got a doorway opening directly onto my drying green. I find it rather odd.
“If the worst comes to the worse I can put up a two-metre fence and keep it 500mm from the wall and obstruct all light!”
