Midlothian Council’s Ranger Service invited some very special guests to Vogrie Country Park recently to help celebrate its new Green Flag award.

The VIPs – including Scouts, residents and representatives of the criminal justice team – are among hundreds of volunteers who help keep green spaces, including Vogrie, among the best in the country.

To say a huge thank you for all their hard work, the Rangers welcomed the volunteers to Vogrie House near Gorebridge for a special afternoon tea. Vogrie Country Park, Springfield Mill and Roslin Glen have each won a Green Flag Award for 2012/13.

Councillor Joe Wallace, Provost of Midlothian, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Vogrie, Springfield and Roslin have all won a Green Flag award this year.

“I am particularly delighted to see that Vogrie has won a Green Flag for the very first time.
